I mounted my 58x89 Freedom Camper on a 5x8 utility trailer, and it’s been a total game changer. I can haul it behind my SUV, drop it at camp, and still have my vehicle free to explore. It tows smooth, sets up fast, and keeps me warm even in freezing temps. It’s like a teardrop camper, but lighter, tougher, and way more versatile.

Contact UsThe only difference is the mounting kit that comes in the box. Each has the same insulated build, four sizes, weight, and everything inside.
The Truck Bed Camper ships with the Truck Mounting Kit, which secures it in a pickup bed.
The Trailer Camper ships with the Trailer Mounting Kit, which bolts it to a utility trailer.
Pick the one that matches where the camper is going. If you will be using it in a truck and trailer, you can always buy the mounting kit separately in our Camper Accessories section.
The camper body fits either one. The hardware doesn't. Each kit is built for the setup it's sold with, so if you buy the Truck Bed Camper and later want it on a trailer, you'd add a Trailer Mounting Kit ($39.99), and the other direction, you'd add a Truck Mounting Kit ($150).
If you know you'll be switching between the two, buy the camper that matches where it'll live most of the time and pick up the second kit from our Camper Accessories.

A Trailer Mounting Kit is provided and required if using a trailer to carry your Freedom Camper.
The Trailer Mounting Kit includes six metal plates, six bolts, six washers, and six nuts to attach to trailers.
If you plan on using a truck to transport the camper, you will need the Truck Mounting Kit.
For the 48x79, 58x79, and 58x89 models, a raised platform is required to elevate the camper above your truck’s wheel wells. This not only ensures proper fitment but also creates valuable storage space underneath. What we like to call "the garage."
Multiple aftermarket drawer systems are compatible with the Freedom Camper.

Due to its ultralight build (180-190 pounds), it requires only two people to load, unload, and store.
The Freedom Camper is intentionally designed as a minimalist basecamp, ready for you to outfit however you like. Whether you want to mount awnings, solar panels, roof racks, or ventilation fans, the Freedom Camper makes it easy to create a setup that fits your lifestyle.
On the roof, you'll find two raised composite wood areas, ideal mounting points for racks, awnings, or solar equipment. For fan installation, simply follow the manufacturer’s instructions as you would with any other camper.
I just bought my 58X89 and strapped it on my little trailer. I plan to use straps whether it’s on my trailer or my truck. I just can’t get myself to drill into my new camper! My Jeep pulls it just fine. Of course we’re only talk around 500 lbs total. It will remain barebones. I’m not adding a bunch of stuff to it. I have a homemade cooler and a tiny portable heater to take along. Sleeping mat and sleeping bag, and that’s about it. Let the adventures begin!

I actually have the pod but wanted to leave a review on the website. This thing is fantastic. I have been looking to make her purchase an Overland camper and hated the $30,000- $70,000 price tag. These things might be simple, but that’s what makes them fantastic. You can build them anywhere you want very very easily. Would recommend to anyone who is doing overlanding or camping and looking to have a place to sleep and not a mobile resort. 10 out of 10.
